Hardwood Installation
Wide-plank oak, walnut, maple, hickory — sourced from premier mills, laid by hand.
Forty years of Los Angeles craftsmanship, still run out of the same workshop by the man who started it. From wide-plank hardwood and hand-laid parquet to sanding, refinishing, and staircases that stop people mid-sentence — every floor gets done the right way.
I started J&R Elite Floors in 1984 with a truck, a belt sander, and a stubborn belief that a floor should outlive the people walking on it. Four decades later, I'm still here — still measuring twice, still hand-finishing the stains, still answering the phone myself.
From wide-plank white oak to hand-laid Versailles parquet, from forgotten staircases brought back to life to long-lasting laminate done right — every job gets the same obsessive attention. This isn't a franchise. It's my name on the door, and I'd like it to stay that way.
"A good floor is the bones of a house. I build bones that don't quit."

We'd talked to four flooring companies. J&R was the only one that sat on the floor with us and explained why one species mattered over another. The install was immaculate.
Our 1920s staircase was a wreck. They rebuilt it into the most beautiful thing in the house. Three contractors told us it couldn't be saved. These guys saved it.
